Privacy Policy

Board Vault is a household savings tracking app published by Craig Rogers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write this in plain language. If anything is unclear, please email us at craig@kinetic-mgmt.com.

What We Collect

Board Vault collects only the information needed to provide the app's features:

• Account information: Your email address and a password you create. Passwords are encrypted by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never stored in plaintext or visible to us.
• Household and savings data you enter: Goal name, goal amount, household name, member names and emojis, savings amounts, bills, budgets, quest history, and rivalry positions. This data is what makes the app useful to you.
• Optional financial inputs: If you choose to enter your monthly take-home income for budget suggestions, we store that number along with your other household data. You can leave this field blank.

What We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what Board Vault does not do:

• We do not connect to or read from your bank accounts.
• We do not collect or store credit card numbers, account numbers, Social Security numbers, or government IDs.
• We do not access your device's location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.
• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.

How We Use Your Information

The data you enter is used solely to operate Board Vault — to display your savings progress, manage your household members, calculate suggestions, and sync your data across your devices. We do not use your data for any other purpose.

Where Your Data Lives

Your account and household data is stored on Supabase, our backend service provider, which hosts data on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Some data is also stored temporarily on your device while you use the app.

Children's Privacy

Board Vault is designed for adults to manage household savings. Account creation is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. Family members designated as "kid" within a household are managed entirely by the adult account holder and do not directly create accounts, log in, or interact with our servers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has somehow created an account, please email craig@kinetic-mgmt.com and we will delete the account promptly.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access and edit your data: You can view and edit all your data inside the app at any time.
• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action removes your profile, household membership, and saved data from our systems.
• Email us: If you'd prefer to delete your account by email or have any other privacy request, contact craig@kinetic-mgmt.com and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems immediately. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before being permanently erased.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, and access controls on our backend. No system is perfectly secure, but Board Vault collects so little sensitive data that the risk of harm in a breach is minimal — we don't store payment info, identity documents, or banking credentials.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the Effective Date above and post the revised version at this same URL. For significant changes, we'll notify users in the app.
